Questionable heart explantation. The operation was performed on 19 October 2001 in the hospital of the People’s Armed Police Forces in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. That was two years before the first documented brain death determination was performed in China. Underlined text: ‘Major points of donor heart removal: systemic heparinization (2 mg/kg); delivery of cold cardioplegia to the heart through the aortic root until the heart stopped beating’.
